Mainz

Mainz is located in the heart of Germany, in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region. Mainz is Germany’s third oldest city and the place where Johannes Gutenberg invented print. Mainz offers various tourist attractions, including the historical city center with its 1000 year-old cathedral, the Gutenberg Museum (home of the Gutenberg Bible), Marc Chagall‘s blue stained-glass windows in St. Stefan’s church, and the baroque fortress overlooking the city. Mainz is surrounded by vineyards which produce some of Germany’s best white wines. Taste them in one of the city’s many winehouses.
