AOW Section's Workshop for Young Researchers Visits the LIR

On June 22, 2026, the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research (LIR) hosted the opening day of the early-career workshop organized by the Division of Work, Organizational, and Business Psychology (AOW) of the German Psychological Society. The three-day workshop was organized by Prof. Dr. Thomas Rigotti and his team and was aimed at doctoral candidates at various stages of their academic training.

At the LIR, early-career researchers from German-speaking countries gathered to present their dissertation projects, receive academic feedback from experienced mentors, and exchange ideas on current topics such as career development, publication strategies, and open science practices. In addition, the workshop offered a wide range of opportunities for networking within the AOW community.

Another highlight of the opening day was a presentation by Tome Sandevski on the topic “Psychological Research in the Policy-Making Process: Target Audiences, Transfer Formats, and Understandings of Roles.” The session discussed the opportunities and challenges of knowledge transfer between psychological research and political decision-making processes and reflected on the various roles of researchers in the context of evidence-based policymaking.

By hosting the opening day, the LIR provided a framework for professional exchange and networking among early-career researchers on topics at the intersection of work, health, and resilience.
