Prevention instead of repair - Raising awareness of geromedicine and prevention in Germany

The spokespersons of the Leibniz Research Alliance Resilient Ageing, Helen Morrison (FLI) and Oliver Tüscher (LIR), are co-authors of the Leopoldina discussion paper “Health-Extending Medicine in an Aging Society – Prospects for Medical Research and Practice (2025)“.

In the paper, together with other national and international experts, they advocate for better research into the biological processes of ageing in order to focus on ageing itself in medical practice - and to develop new prevention approaches rather than just the treatment of age-related diseases.
