Successful Launch of the Meenzer Science-Schoppe 2026

On March 25, 2026, the Mainzer Wissenschaftsallianz welcomed science enthusiasts to the first “Meenzer Science-Schoppe” of the year at Freude Café in Mainz’s Old Town, held as part of the annual theme “Humans and Regions”.

The Meenzer Science-Schoppe is a well-established event series by the Mainzer Wissenschaftsallianz showcasing research “Made in Mainz” — in an entertaining, accessible, and understandable way, all in a friendly atmosphere. Listen, ask questions, and join the discussion!

This year’s series kicked off with Papoula Petri-Romão from the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research. Under the title “Mental Health in Difficult Times: Insights from Around the World,” she demonstrated that resilience depends largely on how people perceive and evaluate stressful events. Cultural influences and social dynamics also play an important role—vividly illustrated by impressions from her research trips, including to Brazil.
