Travel information

From Frankfurt International Airport


Frankfurt Airport is connected to Mainz Central Station ("Mainz Hbf") via regular direct regional trains from its regional train station (not long-distance train station!). No prebooking is required. Tickets can be bought from ticket machines in the train station (cash, credit card, EC card).

Take either an R or an S8 train (not S9!), leaving from platform 3.

Costs: about 5 € one-way. Travel duration: 26 min. Timetables: here.

Cabs take 25-35 min. Costs: 60-70 € one-way.

From Mainz Central Station (Mainz Hbf)

On foot: Take back exit (“Ausgang West“). Walking distance 10 min.

By bus: On station square, bus bay G, take buses 9 (dir. Brezelbäckerei), 62 (dir. Weisenau), 63 (dir. Laubenheim), 67 (dir. Zornheim), 76 (dir. Landwehrweg).

Buses leave every few minutes. Exit next stop. Travel duration 4 min.

Tickets (1,90 €) can be bought from the driver (cash) or from ticket machines at the bus stop (cash, EC card).

By cab: station square. Travel duration 5 min.

By car
: Use parking garage Augustusplatz (Am Römerlager, 55131 Mainz, 5 min by foot).
