Research group description

The research group works on three topics:

1) It uses the methods of the Cochrane Collaboration to create systematic reviews and meta-analyses on resilience mechanisms and interventions that promote resilience, thus offering a knowledge platform for LIR staff and external scientists.

2) It develops psychotherapeutic, pharmacological, and other methods for promoting resilience on the basis of resilience mechanisms that are investigated in our long-term studies and in cooperation with other working groups of the LIR. This includes online psychotherapy programs.

3) It critically reflects the ethical and theoretical implications of the resilience concept and the effects of resilience-promoting measures and examines the effects of pharmacological cognitive enhancement on individual resilience.

Current research projects
  • Systematic reviews and metaanalyses on effective resilience interventions in co-operation with the Cochrane Collaboration
  • Resilience factors and resilience promoting interventions in the current COVID-19 pandemic
  • Resilience factors in diachronic and intercultural perspectives - What makes people resilient?
  • Development of psychotherapeutic interventions to promote resilience with a focus on programs provided in group formats and online
  • Medical ethics and theory and risk of bias in resilience research
  • Development of instruments for dynamic system analysis in resilience research
