Research group description

The research group works on three topics:

1) Using the methods of the Cochrane Collaboration to create systematic reviews and meta-analyzes on resilience mechanisms and interventions that promote resilience, thus offering a knowledge platform for LIR staff and external scientists.

2) It develops psychotherapeutic, pharmacological, and other methods for promoting resilience on the basis of resilience mechanisms that are investigated in our long-term studies and in cooperation with other working groups of the LIR. This includes closed-loop neurostimulation procedures, sports and online psychotherapy programs.

3) It critically reflects the ethical and theoretical implications of the resilience concept and the effects of resilience-promoting measures and examines the effects of pharmacological cognitive enhancement on individual resilience.

Current research projects
  • Resilience factors in diachronic and intercultural perspectives - What makes people resilient?
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of effective resilience interventions in co-operation with the Cochrane Collaboration
  • Development of psychotherapeutic interventions to promote resilience, including online procedures
  • Development of innovative non-invasive brain stimulation methods and pharmacological interventions to promote resilience
  • Effects of pharmacological cognitive enhancement on resilience
  • Medical ethics and theory of resilience research
  • Development of a group psychotherapy program to promote resilience (The new growth)
  • Development of instruments for dynamic system analysis in resilience research (IDSAIR)
