The ‘Healthy Studying in Rhineland-Palatinate’ project aims to provide students in Rhineland-Palatinate with resilience support measures that make it easier for them to deal with stressful life events and burdens during their studies. The aim is to provide students with preventative help before health risks even arise. At the same time, the project is developing tailored resilience support measures for the target group of students, which can be offered at universities in the long term and integrated into existing health programs. Supported by the Ministry of Science and Health, the aim is to make a joint contribution to maintaining the mental health of students in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The practice-oriented multiplier workshop, led by Meike Trommer and attended by representatives from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences and Bingen University of Applied Sciences, served to raise awareness of the topics of stress and resilience in the university context. In addition, resilience factors were presented and specifically trained. This not only promotes the personal resilience of the participants, but also strengthens their role as multipliers in the university context.

Through the workshop, the LIR gained important insights into the needs of the respective universities, which are incorporated into the planning of resilience support measures, which is why the workshop has now taken place for the third time and thus also reached Studierendenwerke and other universities in Rhineland-Palatinate. During his visit, Science Minister Clemens Hoch had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the workshop participants, Prof. Dr Klaus Lieb, Scientific Director of the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research (LIR), and project manager Kate Utzschneider and to gain an insight into the status of the project.

Further information on the project can be found on the website and in the current press release.
