Our doctoral student, Papoula Petri-Romão, will participate in the 2026 Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

We are delighted that our doctoral student, Papoula Petri-Romão, participated in this year’s 75th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting as one of approximately 600 young scientists selected from around the world. The anniversary meeting took place from June 28 to July 3, 2026, in Lindau on Lake Constance and brought together about 75 Nobel laureates with outstanding young researchers from around the world.

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are among the most prestigious international forums for scientific exchange between Nobel laureates and the next generation of researchers. The focus is on lectures, panel discussions, and personal encounters that foster interdisciplinary dialogue and open up new scientific perspectives. Papoula Petri-Romão was also among the 54 selected early-career researchers who were given the opportunity to present their research as part of the so-called NextGen Science Talks. Her presentation was titled “When Stress Doesn’t Break You: A Modifiable Human Resilience Mechanism.”

This year’s anniversary conference is themed “Science Transcending Borders” and is dedicated to four key areas: Information, Integrity, Life, and Resilience. Together, the participants discuss current scientific and societal challenges—ranging from artificial intelligence and quantum research to global health and scientific integrity.

For Papoula Petri-Romão, participating in the conference is a special honor and offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with leading scientists, establish international contacts, and gain new insights for her research in the field of global mental health. She is also sharing her impressions and experiences from the conference on Instagram at @papouladoesresearch.

We warmly congratulate Papoula Petri-Romão on this outstanding achievement!
