The Delegation Trip of the Leibniz Association to Australia 2024

The delegation trip to Australia in 2024 was a success for all involved. Thanks to the organizational initiative of Section D – Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Engineering – the trip proceeded smoothly. Prof. Lieb, representing the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research (LIR), was part of the delegation, consisting of 22 directors and researchers from 18 Leibniz Institutes. The program included visits to Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, and Brisbane, as well as meetings with leading universities and research institutions. On-site, 47 specialized workshops were conducted by German and Australian researchers to initiate and deepen joint research projects and facilitate interdisciplinary exchanges. Other highlights of this trip included an evening reception at the German Embassy and a visit to the Sydney Opera House. A detailed report of the trip can be found here.

We thank all participants for their dedicated collaboration, especially those who laid the groundwork for sustainable research cooperations with their work.
